Accepting the reality that Hillary Clinton will not be the first female president of the United States has been difficult, to say the least.
Not only did something in me die with her concession, but having to accept Donal Trump as the country’s president-elect is taking some getting used to.
But facts are facts and there is only so long I can wallow in depression and despair. I finally pulled myself together and in the wake of anti-Trump protests that erupted across the country, and are still continuing, to go on CNN and give my thoughts on what it’s like being an American-Muslim in a country that just elected the man who vowed to ban Muslims from entering the country.
I said this on CNN Newsroom and I’ll say it again- I have accepted Donal Trump as America’s president, despite being a diehard Clinton supporter, but the million dollar question is will Trump accept us?
It is time to heal a deeply divided country and the responsibility falls on the Trump to reassure all Americans that despite him running on a hurtful and alienating political campaign, that he intends to represent all Americans.

God help us all.
