The beginning of a new year means one thing in Tinseltown- award season. This week on PBS’ To The Contrary we talked about how the most important awards, the Oscars, are once again coming under attack for “being so white.”
It’s more than just a case of bad dramatic deja vu, and as I argue on this week’s show with 94% of the Academy being white and 77% being male, we are going to see that reflected in the movies nominated and the actors recognized.
With election year in full swing, the panel also tackled the Democratic nomination, international adoption and on TTC Extra we debated sexism in Silicon Valley.
