It was such an honor to be back on MSNBC’s Am Joy show with two of my feminist icons, Zerina Maxwell and Irin Carmon for a “power panel” discussion on Obama’s birth control mandate being rolled back by who else but Donald sexual-assaulter-in-chief, Donald Trump.
It never fails to blow my mind how real and intense the politics of women’s health is in America, and that once again we are fighting over birth control, a very non-controversial part of women’s healthcare that is always very controversial in one of the most industrialized countries in the world.
I focused my points not only on the hypocrisy of the Trump Administration but on the fact that women use birth control for more than just family-planning needs. Many women need it to treat irregular periods, cramps, acne, endometriosis and more. In short: birth control is healthcare.
