As mass shooting after mass shooting continues to take place in the US, I worry that the violence will soon become a part of our daily lives, something we will grow to get used to. It’s already happening. There were two separate shootings Friday morning. Americans barely blinked.
Mass shootings was just one of the topics we tackled this week on PBS’ To The Contrary. I expressed my hope that at the end of the day, women will lead gun control reform in this country. Not only do women and children (surprise! surprise!) make up the majority of mass shooting victims, roughly 64% according to a new Huffington Post survey.
This week’s panelists and I also talked about women retiring together in communities, and a domestic-abuse victim who ended up in jail.
Watch the full show and as always I would love to know your thoughts.
